Waste Generated by the Nikon Group in Japan
As part of our efforts to help realize the resource-circulating society, the Nikon Group have been implementing measures to reduce the amount of waste generated. The amount of waste* generated by Nikon and the Group companies in Japan in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019 was 4,034 tons, representing a decrease of 21.7% compared to the previous year. The target of reducing waste to below the amount generated in the previous year (5,149 tons) was achieved.

Nikon Group's water use
The Nikon Group recognizes the vital importance of water resources, and appropriate water use management is being implemented at every Nikon business facility and Group manufacturing company. The total amount of water used by the Nikon Group in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019 was 4,222 thousand m3. Of this total, the amount of water used by Nikon and by the Group companies in Japan was 3,091 thousand m3, and the amount of water used by the Group manufacturing companies outside Japan was 1,131 thousand m3.
